A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

On the re-reading journey it was my second time reading ACOMASF which honestly was even better the second time around. Where we left off was now Feyre surviving everything that happened under the mountain and is now reunited and in the Spring Court with Tamlin. Feyre, now High Fae, is dealing with all of her new powers and the possessiveness of Tamlin now that she's safe and home. Basically, Tamlin is now a huge dick and extremely protective and possessive. Her only escape is during her week away with Rhysand, which he actually claims her for the first time on the day of her wedding.      This is probably my favorite book that focuses on Feyre and Rhys in the series. The build up to enemies-friends-lovers (mates) is the perfect amount of time. The fact that there is dedicated passages and moments to Feyre dealing with her PTSD is so real. The nightmares, fears, and sometimes the need for reassurance is so innately realistic that it's nice to see in a book like this. But al

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

So if you read the previous post, you’ll know that I’m re-reading the entire ACOTAR series. Here are my thoughts on reading it for the second time: Having been slightly obsessed with magic and things associated with the magical world, the world building Maas does is possibly one of the easiest ones to follow. Not only the world, but the character list and character building as the book goes on. There are complexities but she doesn't throw extra characters in the story unless they’re necessary or come up again. The emotions that Feyre deals with are wild, the hunger she deals with…not even just physical hunger but the overwhelming need to be wanted and loved. To have purpose yes, but also the want of being taken care of and understood for once. Which makes so much sense that she falls in love with Tamlin. They’re both broken and he shows just enough of himself and his darkness that they need one another and find solace in knowing neither of them are alone.  Speaking of Tamlin, h

Re-Reading ACOTAR Series

I absolutely blame Tik Tok for my re-reading of the ACOTAR series. Ever since Hulu has said they're making a show/movie based off of it...there have been fan castings everywhere! People talking about who narrates the audiobooks and clothing and stores creating so much merch! I'm obsessed and what better way to join the masses? Re-reading the entire series for the second time. The point of the post is to simply let you know that the next few posts will be completely ACOTAR, including my favorite merch that I've seen as well as my fan cast...if I work up the nerve to share it.  Wish me luck, Bethany

The Lovely War by Julie Berry

The Lovely War By Julie Berry Following the story of four people in London, England/Europe in 1917 during WWI as told by Aphrodite and other selected Greek Gods. Follows two couples who meet and their journeys through the war and back. Hazel and James meet days before he is shipped to training and they have a connection that leaves them both startled but madly in love with one another. Hazel is a pianist who is set on joining a conservatory and James is an architect who wants to help the war efforts with building hospitals and other useful buildings but becomes a sharpshooter instead. Colette and Aubrey are the other couple who find each other when Collete is helping the YMCA with the war efforts and Aubrey is a jazz musician who plays with dreams of becoming a household name. The story works through heartbreak, PTSD, and figuring out that love means working through everything. Even when it’s scary.  The progression of the book and writing style is absolute perfection. Payback's A Witch by Lana Harper

Payback's A Witch by Lana Harper This Book is About:      Emmy Harlow is a no longer magic wielding witch who returns home, determined for it to be the last time, and only came as a favor to her parents. It was a self-imposed exile due to an awful ex-boyfriend and break up. The main reason she came home was to take part in a spell casting tournament, not an active part, her family line has only ever been the arbiter. The judge, broadcaster, and rule enforcer. Of course, one of the members that are actively participating is the horrible ex-boyfriend. Emmy finds out that her best friend Linden and Talia, the girl everyone wanted in high school, were also scorned by him. The group of the scorned then decide on revenge in the form of teaming up for the tournament, so his family can’t win.  What I Liked:  Absolutely love Linden and Emmy’s friendship. There is nothing like having that person in your life that you can pick right up where you left off. Also enjoy the relationship between

Once Upon a Broken Heart (Once Upon a Broken Heart #1) by Stephanie Garber

Once Upon a Broken Heart (Once Upon a Broken Heart #1) Stephanie Garber Started this book in the airport, knowing it’s one of the booktok finds, my best friend gave it to me to read. It was surprisingly really good, I’ve never read anything else by Garber, but I’ll definitely be checking it out. Took about 4 hours to read and I finished it on the plane before landing. Very excited for the sequel.  This Book is About: Eva Fox’s step sister is marrying her (first) love. So Eva sees no other way to make it stop besides praying to the Fate of Broken Hearts, Jacks. Who’s kisses are said to kill anyone who dares try, except his one true love. Her wish/ prayer is answered, for a price, and her entire family and the wedding party gets turned to stone. The only way to end it is to in fact turn herself into stone after realizing the damage she has done.  Thinking that her love, Luc, would save her. It took weeks before she is turned make…and by a stranger. Another fate actually, Poison.  As fo

The Witches Blade (The Five Courts of Okrith #2) by A.K Mulford

The Witches Blade (The Five Crowns of Okrith #2) A.K Mulford This is the sequel to The High Mountain Court, which was a necessity to read after the first one. The set up and love interests, the idea of Fated Mates, just all of it was fantastic. Once again, read this in one night. Only took me maybe 6 hours to finish, which is fantastic. Very excited for the third book to come out.  This Book is About: Rua, Remy’s younger sister, is the main focus of this book. Like her sister, she is a red witch and a high fae. Except their upbringings were completely different. While Remy had to hide herself away and have her guardians change..Rua was in the presence of the red witches and they made her life absolute hell. This has to deal with Rua facing her trauma, her darkness in herself that's amplified by the blade she welds, and how she now fits into this new world. She is the link between the fae and the witches, her goal is to unite them all, especially the blue witches.  Through this
