Mexican Gothic  by Silvia Moreno-Garcia I was checking out new releases in 2020 and this caught my eye. I’ve read a few reviews by others and even one of my favorite vloggers read it. So when I saw it on the Buy one Get one 50% off at B&N, you know I had to snag it. The other book I bought was a christmas gift for my friend, which reminds me…I have to mail out that box.  This book begins in the 1950’s with a glamorous woman named Noemí Taboada coming in from a night out to her father calling her into his office. Her father tells her that she will be traveling to see her newlywed cousin for a wellness visit after receiving a distressing letter stating there are ghosts and that her husband is poisoning her. So Noemi goes to High Place, an isolated mansion on top of the hill in the middle of the Mexican Countryside. The front for an old silver mine that was active before the revolution.
