The Lodge (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trappers #15) by J.L Bryan

""The only clear pattern I've seen is that, whether the hunting party is led by a pagan god, a demon, or a ghost, it's always bad luck to see it. Some say it's an omen of death." "Oh, I'm so glad we saw it then." Stacey shook her head and went back to work."

A secret client hires Ellie Jordan to investigate an island getaway that was once home to an Industrial Age aristocrat, solely used to escape the harsh winters of the upper northeast. These once grand mansions were slowly abandoned, and the weather and wilderness took over once again. One such island, that is temporarily home to Ellie Jordan for this investigation, was modeled after a royal hunting lodge, complete with weapons, artifacts, hunting trophies, and exotic taxidermied predators from around the world. The secretive client is trying to bring the island back to life as a grand gesture to his fiancée whose family used to own the island. Unfortunately, while trying to fix things, the shadows and spirits are remaining active. The grand lodge is more, full of hidden rooms and locked safes. Ellie and Stacey must face the dark dangerous past and find a way to defeat the inhuman entities before they can do more harm.

Just want to say, if a man who is paid to shuttle me via ferry to an abandoned isolated island is warning me against it...I better be getting one hell of a payday out of it or else I'm running the other way. Not only do Ellie and Stacey have to find a way to sort through the former inhabitants but also work around the living. Through their investigating and their physical deep diving into the lodge they find the truth of the families past but also the countless murders that have occurred. There was so much mythology and twists that came with this book it's just incredible. Once again, every new installment of this series makes me fall in love with it again!

"I know I'm not the more experienced investigator here," Stacey said, "but I'm going to go way out on a limb and say the haunting of this estate could be related to this underground death-god temple full of human skulls."

She senses trouble when witches make a move to attack the King in a public setting and she needs to hide. But not before bumping into the Archbishops military force against all types of magical creatures because they are considered unnatural. Where we meet Reid, the Archbishops golden boy and captain of the Chasseurs, who thinks nothing of her running from the scene in the square. Until their paths meet again at a political figures’ house during a robbery and he’s taken aback by her ability to narrowly escape. When they serendipitously bump into each other for a third time, a public scene is made, and the Archbishop forces them (a witch and a witch hunter) into marriage. Having to hide who she is from her husband, the entire world, all while trying

Lullaby by J.L Bryan (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper #7)

"You want to see if you can train the evil singing nursey ghost to...do what? Babysit evil children?"     Ellie Jordan's life just got a whole lot more complicated; Calvin sells the company, and the new owners are in town calling all the shots...not to mention Michael is in a coma due to the injuries sustained on one of her last investigations. The new client they are to meet is a pregnant woman who has a ghost that appears in the nursey singing an eerie lullaby. As always, the team discovers there are more ghosts in the house and that one hunts children, and they need to stop them before they try to kill again. All while figuring out where the now dormant Anton Clay is hiding.      Once again Bryan just absolutely knocks it out of the park with this new addition. I just want to open this up with saying how much I absolutely hate the new owners PSI, and Kara the Russian woman overseeing everything. she is extremely in touch with the paranormal and has a few tricks up he
